Job Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining facilities, HVAC systems, and equipment to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable workplace. This role includes operating, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on building facilities and utilities equipment, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, mechanical, and electrical work on facilities and utilities equipment, including vacuum systems, compressed air, emergency generators, power systems, water systems, and HVAC equipment
- Contact suppliers and vendors to maintain adequate stock of spare parts for equipment under facilities and utilities scope
- Establish and execute maintenance procedures and schedules based on manufacturer recommendations and equipment reliability history
- Report maintenance results to internal and external stakeholders regularly
- Administer the computerized preventive maintenance system (IFOR EAM)
- Coordinate work with outside contractors and vendors as needed
- Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team
- Ensure compliance with all internal procedures and applicable regulatory requirements
- Experience in facilities maintenance, including HVAC systems and utilities equipment
- Ability to read and follow maintenance manuals and procedures
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to participate in emergency response activities
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical training in facilities maintenance or related field preferred
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance required
- Experience with HVAC systems and utilities equipment preferred
