ReStores are thrift stores operated by Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County. ReStores accept donations of gently used home goods, tools & hardware, electronics, furniture, appliances, building materials and so much more, and then resold to the public at a fraction of the retail price while diverting useful items from area landfills.

Sales of donated items help Habitat for Humanity partner with local families to build, rehabilitate and repair safe and affordable homes in your community and around the world - a good deal for you, your community and the environment. Together, we can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better future while creating stronger neighborhoods.

Volunteer duties may include the following:

  • Sort and price donations
    • Housewares, Home Décor, & Collectibles
    • Hand Tools & Hardware
    • Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC supplies
    • Artwork
    • Books and Media
  • Test and price donations
    • Electronics
    • Power Tools
    • Lamps and Lighting
    • Appliances
  • Flag donated items for potential sale on eBay
  • Answer phone - answer questions about donations; direct callers to Habitat programs
  • Answer customer questions in store
  • Light cleaning, housekeeping, and organization
  • Screen incoming donation drop-offs to meet quality standards.

We offer shifts Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm, and are flexible to you and your availability We are always in need of recurring volunteers, or Regulars Please follow up in your inquiry if this would be of interest to you.
