The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for strengthening Phlow's ability to monitor, protect, and respond to security risks across its expanding digital and operational environment. This role ensures system resilience, continuous compliance, and proactive management of cyber threats. The Cybersecurity Analyst provides dedicated in-house expertise to maintain a proactive, integrated security posture across IT and operational technology (OT) systems. While primarily based at Phlow's headquarters in Richmond, VA, this role will also be required to travel to our manufacturing plant in Petersburg when necessary.

Requirements

Security Monitoring & Threat Detection

  • Monitor and analyze security alerts and events across IT and OT systems to detect and respond to potential threats in real time.
  • Investigate anomalies, suspicious activity, and potential incidents to determine severity and required response.
Vulnerability Management & Risk Mitigation
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, coordinate patch management, and oversee remediation activities to reduce risk exposure.
  • Ensure compliance with internal cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain risk registers and implement mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.
Controls & Documentation
  • Maintain and update cybersecurity controls, including access management, security baselines, and operational logs.
  • Ensure audit readiness by maintaining accurate documentation for policies, procedures, incidents, and compliance activities.
  • Perform control validation and periodic assessments to confirm effectiveness of security measures.
Incident Response & Forensics
  • Support incident response efforts by coordinating containment, investigation, and recovery activities.
  • Conduct digital forensics and post-incident analysis to prevent recurrence and strengthen controls.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and quality teams to implement lessons learned and corrective actions.
Security Awareness & Policy Enforcement
  • Conduct security awareness initiatives, training, and policy enforcement for employees.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure security controls are consistently applied across systems, networks, and facilities.
  • Provide guidance on security best practices and emerging threats.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-5 years of experience in cybersecurity monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, or a related field.
  • Experience with security monitoring tools, SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, and network security technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls) and regulatory requirements relevant to pharmaceutical operations.
Preferred:
  • Experience in a cGMP, pharmaceutical, or biotech environment.
  • Professional certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, or CEH.
  • Hands-on experience with IT and OT systems security integration.
  • Knowledge of threat intelligence, penetration testing, and digital forensics.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constantly required to see to utilize computer screens and monitors to perform job duties including reading & writing, as well as when presenting information and communicating with others.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear to communicate with employees, candidates, vendors, and others, including presenting information in front of groups.
  • Frequently required to reach with arms and hands performing repetitive motions and using finger dexterity to work primarily at a computer keyboard and with a mouse.
  • Frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to stand or walk to move around primarily in an office environment.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • This position may require up to 5% travel with occasional increase in travel demands based on business needs.
