DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT II - COASTAL FIELD DIVISION / OCEANO DUNES DISTRICT
The reporting location for this position is the Oceano Dunes District Office, 340 James Way, Suite 270, Pismo Beach, California, 93449.
The Oceano Dunes District Superintendent II works under the general direction of and reports to the Chief of the Off Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division (OHMVRD). The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the managerial responsibility for the overall operation of the District, including planning, organizing, directing, reviewing and controlling a multi-faceted and complex off highway vehicle operations within Oceano Dunes SVRA and more traditional park operations of Pismo State Beach, including the Pismo Dunes Natural Preserve and the Pismo Lake property. The District serves over 2.6 million visitors annually within an eight-mile stretch of sandy coastline, 4,800 acres of coastal sand dunes and urban park settings, consisting of one of the most sensitive environmental coastal habitats in the United States.

This position is designated as not telework eligible .
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Working Conditions
Operate a variety of vehicles and vehicle types in an off-highway environment. Work environment may have exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, conditions, hours, elevations, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Work in a range of climatic environments from hot, dry deserts, coastal beaches, cool forests, and mountainous areas. May involve some exposure to aggressive visitors. May be exposed to extreme weather and traffic conditions.
