Overview: The Electrical Field Engineer II will manage and execute project controls and multi-discipline management. Key responsibilities include providing direct support to Craft Superintendents, performing quantity assessments, scheduling, contract administration, and project reporting.

The role involves proactive communication with clients, engineering teams, subcontractors, and project management regarding project status.

Location & Travel Details: This is a traveling position that requires you to be based anywhere in the U.S. Travel may account for up to 90% of your time, with placements lasting between 8-18 months. We provide a competitive base salary along with per diem support for living expenses. Additionally, you will benefit from mobilization support and a longer weekend every four weeks for personal time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company professionally in all client interactions.
  • Provide contract-required reports to clients on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Adhere to Corporate and site-specific safety plans.
  • Calculate quantities and assess the percentage of completed work.
  • Establish and refine processes for work plan creation and review.
  • Support the site quality plan and ensure timely completion of inspections and quality documentation.
  • Manage the processing and customer approval of daily labor timesheets.
  • Distribute weekly Average Labor Rate reports to frontline supervision.
  • Train staff on completing Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Lead or participate in jobsite safety reviews and training sessions.
  • Order and schedule material deliveries; develop procurement status reports.
  • Coordinate jobsite work groups and scheduling.
  • Conduct material takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations and drafting to support field operations.
  • Assist Engineers in gathering and preparing data for documentation purposes.
  • Issue field purchase orders and prepare material buyout takeoffs.
  • Support home office procurement and subcontract administration.
  • Provide field supervision to subcontractor operations.
  • Manage all project record keeping, including daily reports, photographs, and RFIs.
  • Monitor productivity and develop project controls.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive master project schedule.
  • Prepare change orders and as-built data for Project Manager review.
  • Drive planning processes and establish cash flow forecasts.
  • Act as the company representative in the absence of senior staff.
  • Understand and comply with the Prime contract terms.
  • Prepare Schedule of Values and customer invoices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Support a temporary crew of up to 50 personnel as needed.
  • Provide leadership to 1-2 Field Engineers.
  • Oversee field office staff, including engineers, document controllers, and procurement personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Field Engineer role or similar position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with health and safety programs and project regulations.
  • Active participation in daily toolbox meetings on-site.
  • Set an example for safety practices.
  • Ability to read and analyze engineering documents efficiently.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate for project durations of 6-12 months.
  • Strong commitment to ethics, integrity, and an emphasis on safety.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.

Physical Demands:

  • Willingness to work in varied weather conditions for up to 12-hour shifts.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to work in physically demanding environments and follow all safety protocols.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 based on experience.
