Zillow Group is on the lookout for a Senior Data Visualization Specialist to join our Marketing Data Science & Analytics (DSA) team. In this rewarding role, you will craft engaging visual representations of intricate data that deliver key insights, influencing marketing strategy and decision-making processes. You will work closely with marketing, data science, and product teams to develop and sustain reporting solutions that empower our marketing efforts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating, maintaining, and managing clear and impactful data visualizations and dashboards for marketing stakeholders.
  • Working with marketing, data science, and engineering teams to devise scalable reporting solutions.
  • Translating business objectives into actionable reports and continuously enhancing the reporting infrastructure.
  • Utilizing BI tools like Tableau and custom UI development (e.g., JavaScript) to produce insightful dashboards.
  • Handling large datasets from both internal and third-party sources (e.g., Databricks, Presto) to develop meaningful solutions.
  • Writing efficient SQL queries and leveraging ETL tools (e.g., dbt, Databricks) to ensure high-performance reporting.
  • Evaluating marketing campaign effectiveness and applying insights to future strategies.
  • Contributing to the marketing BI vision and aiding in data-driven decision-making.

This role is classified as remote, allowing you to work from a location of your choice within the U.S. However, employees in certain states (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington state, and Washington DC) are eligible for a standard base pay range of $136,700.00 - $218,300.00 annually. Alongside a competitive base salary, this position is eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance, and location.

We seek a dedicated individual who is enthusiastic about reporting and adept at transforming complex datasets and business challenges into accessible and impactful insights. The right candidate will be comfortable with complexity and excited to confront new business problems. You should have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience in business analytics.
  • 5+ years of experience in data visualization, with proficiency in BI tools like Tableau.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience in big data environments.
  • Capability in ETL tools and data modeling, with experience using Databricks or similar data warehousing platforms.
  • Experience in creating custom data visualizations using JavaScript or comparable technologies.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, enabling you to elucidate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a sharp focus on detail and data accuracy.
  • A collaborative mindset, capable of working independently, managing priorities, and excelling in a remote, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Tableau Server administration.
