This position is vital for the success of our retail stores. As a Retail Customer Service Representative, you will engage closely with both wholesale and retail customers to assess their needs, provide insightful answers about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend suitable solutions. You will be dedicated to swiftly resolving any customer concerns, ensuring maximum satisfaction, and keeping current with product features while upholding high quality and visual standards in our stores. Achieving excellent customer service while consistently meeting store sales goals will be your primary focus.

Since this role includes direct contact with customers, including minors, and involves access to cash, various payment methods, personal information, and merchandise, a thorough review of criminal history is required to maintain the safety and satisfaction of our customers, staff, and the general public.

The selected candidate will primarily work at Store #1781 located at 7158 N Perryville Rd., Machesney Park, IL 61115, but may also be assigned to other stores within the area.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure outstanding customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Assist customers both in-person and over the phone, identifying their needs and recommending suitable products and services
  • Build trustworthy relationships with wholesale and retail customers
  • Process sales transactions accurately following company policies
  • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals
  • Maintain accurate work order files and formulas
  • Gather products from the sales floor or warehouse
  • Tint and mix products to customer specifications as needed
  • Restock shelves and set up displays
  • Maintain cleanliness of store equipment
  • Assist with loading/unloading delivery trucks
  • Help with deliveries when required
  • Keep assigned areas well-stocked and visually appealing
  • Stay knowledgeable about product offerings and options
  • Adhere to inventory control procedures
  • Provide suggestions for improving sales

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be authorized to work in the country without sponsorship
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without accommodation
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in retail, delivery, or customer service
  • Previous experience in selling paint and related products
  • Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
  • Proficiency in more than one language, especially Spanish, is a plus
