Advocate Health is excited to announce an opportunity for a Surgical Technologist I to join our esteemed General Specialty team. As a vital part of our operating room staff, you will play a key role in creating a safe and efficient surgical environment.

Location: Aurora St Lukes Medical Center - 2900 W Oklahoma Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53215

Shift: Evening (2nd shift) - 40 hours per week

Pay Range: $26.10 - $39.15 per hour

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures, ensuring all materials and supplies are ready and conditionally clean.
  • Assist the surgical team with gowning, gloving, and draping, while anticipating the surgeon's needs during operations.
  • Set up the operating room by arranging equipment and supplies for each case and ensuring post-procedure disinfection.
  • Transport patients and equipment safely within the hospital.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the procedures being performed and required supplies.
  • Maintain specialty carts and equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Assist in patient positioning and other tasks requiring physical endurance.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited program in Surgical Technology.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within 6 months.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
