Our Platform as a Service (PaaS) organization is actively seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to enhance our File Exchange team. In this pivotal role, you will develop and scale innovative file transfer and sharing solutions that support file sharing capabilities within GEICO and with our trusted partners. This opportunity will allow you to significantly influence our mission of transforming the insurance business while working collaboratively with fellow engineers to innovate, enhance current systems, and resolve critical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide thought leadership in the design, build, and deployment of enterprise applications.
• Create highly available, scalable, and secure software solutions tailored to business needs.
• Oversee the full life cycle of your solutions, from conception to production.
• Ensure the quality, usability, and performance of delivered solutions.
• Influence and educate all levels of leadership on best practices.
• Share knowledge and improve processes within and between teams.
• Assess resource requirements and support operational metrics to ensure success.
• Collaborate with application teams and business partners to standardize file sharing practices.

What We Are Looking For:

• Extensive experience in designing and developing multi-tier distributed systems that efficiently manage millions of file transfers.
• Proficient in at least two OOP languages such as Java, Go, Python, or C++.
• Experience in partnering with engineering teams to transition research into production.
• Familiarity with continuous delivery methods and infrastructure as code.
• In-depth knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a quantitative approach.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Familiar with developer tools covering the software development life cycle.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GIT, Jenkins, CircleCI, and SonarQube; knowledge of Terraform/Ansible is a plus.
• Understanding of open-source monitoring solutions such as Grafana and Prometheus.
• Acquaintance with messaging systems like Azure Service Bus is an advantage.

Experience Requirements:

• 8+ years in software engineering.
• 5+ years building scalable applications that engage millions.
• 2+ years with open-source frameworks preferred.
• 2+ years experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure along with DevOps practices.

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $215,000, depending on various factors, including experience, education, responsibilities, and market considerations.
