CHA Consulting, Inc. is excited to announce the opportunity for two Senior Traffic Project Leaders to join our Infrastructure Traffic ITS Team. This role can be based in any of our office locations: Brooklyn, NY; Parsippany, NJ; Norwell, MA; Providence, RI; Boston, MA; or Hartford, CT.
YOUR IMPACT
CHA's Traffic and ITS team is at the forefront of planning, analysis, modeling, and design development in some of the largest metropolitan areas in the US. Our experienced team of traffic engineers, transportation planners, and technical specialists offers a wide range of expertise across modal mobility, accessibility, safety, and the latest intelligent transportation systems (ITS) innovations. The Senior Traffic Project Leader will oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with scope, budget, and schedule while managing project risks effectively.
In this key role, you will cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, adeptly navigating any technical, financial, or logistical challenges that may arise. You will also be responsible for generating and developing work with specific clients, embracing a dual role as both a seller and a doer.
As a Senior Traffic Project Leader, you will play a pivotal role in identifying target market areas and developing marketing strategies. You will communicate updates clearly to clients, management, and project teams and prepare for and lead monthly project review meetings with operations. Your leadership will guide other Project Managers in achieving their professional goals.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering experience required; at least 8 years of project management experience required
- Proven expert knowledge in the relevant engineering discipline with practical application of best practices
- Proficiency with MS Office software required
- Understanding of QA/QC procedures, basic business practices, and engineering laws
- Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation)
- Commitment to uphold company standards for quality control and compliance
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Strong foundational knowledge in specialty areas
- Active involvement in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
- Demonstrated capability to lead a team
- Experience in preparing proposals, project plans, extra work authorizations, and project closeout documents is necessary
- Proven experience managing client relationships, particularly in the NY/Port Authority or New England area
- Ability to understand and interpret client contract requirements
- Capacity to track and oversee multiple projects
- Experience employing problem-solving skills, exercising discretion, and making independent judgments
- Experience managing project accounting processes, including budgeting, forecasts, and cash management
- Familiarity with Deltek Vision preferred
- Articulate and persuasive communicator with the ability to adapt communication style for different audiences
- Knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera P6 preferred
- Willingness to travel as needed is required
SALARY RANGE:
$160,000 - $180,000
Salary is determined by various factors, including qualifications, experience, education, licenses, and fair market evaluations based on industry standards.
