FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Nights

Pay: $22.80 - $29.64 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Coordinator to facilitate communication and operations between our Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and the Operating Room (OR). This role is crucial in ensuring that our surgical teams have the necessary instruments and supplies for successful procedures while resolving issues swiftly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate surgical instrument and case needs from SPD to the Operating Room, ensuring clear communication and swift assistance for real-time instrument and supply requirements.
  • Utilize expert knowledge to maintain quality control and assist in managing inventory of all instrument trays and their storage locations.
  • Evaluate case equipment needs proactively and communicate the plan for prioritizing equipment requests, while recommending instrument purchasing based on insights.
  • Serve as a mentor for new sterile processing technicians, helping them acclimate to their roles.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and decisive judgment within the scope of the job, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Certified as a CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician), CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician), or CST (Certified Surgical Technologist).
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of sterile processing experience.
