Safety Sales Specialist

- The Safety Sales Specialist's mission is to maximize the sales, market share and overall profitability of the safety product categories in his/her set territory, by partnering with the sales teams, planning and executing sales calls on existing and new potential customers, and providing the necessary product training for the sales teams.
- Safety Product Categories: Overall PPE (hand / eye / head / hearing protection), fall protection, respiratory protection, first aid, work area safety.
- This role reports to the Regional Manager, and has a dotted line with the Safety Product Manager.
As a Safety Sales Specialist for our South Carolina market, your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Hit safety sales and profit margin targets selling safety products in a set territory and account base. This includes new items in existing accounts and selling to accounts currently not buying safety products from Dillon Supply.
- Have direct responsibilities for a specific portfolio of customers across the region and generate sales growth in those accounts.
- Work with the Regional/Branch Manager on establishing qualified targets.
- Support local sales teams in developing new / existing safety business: provide product training, technical assistance, product recommendations. Help service existing accounts, obtaining orders, and establishing new accounts by planning and organizing daily and weekly work schedule to call on existing or potential customers.
- Engage our key vendors on large opportunities and/or for presentations/training.
- Work with our showroom branches in merchandising their safety inventory. Participate in Branch open houses/other special events (State/Regional Safety Conferences)
- Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as monthly call reports, monthly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analysis. Provide report to Regional/Branch Manager after joint sales calls with respect to opportunities, follow up and responsibilities.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, etc.
- 5+ years' experience in safety products sales is a must.
- Qualified Safety Sales Professional certification is a plus
- Experience working for a safety products manufacturer is a plus
