We are seeking a motivated and skilled Surgical Technologist I for our General Specialty PM shifts at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. Our commitment at Advocate Health is to provide an outstanding working environment that supports your career growth while ensuring top-notch patient care.

Position Overview:

This full-time role features a competitive pay range of $26.10 - $39.15 per hour, a $10,000 sign-on bonus eligible with distance-based relocation available, plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus specifically for PM shifts. You'll have the opportunity to make a difference in the operating room while working with a nationally recognized healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the surgical area using aseptic techniques to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Assist with various surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile field and anticipating the surgeons' needs.
  • Ensure the operating room is clean, safe, and efficient, setting up and returning equipment as needed.
  • Function as a Second Assistant in surgical operations.
  • Maintain specialty carts, checking equipment and supplies for sterility and functionality.
  • Transport patients and equipment, demonstrating knowledge of safe lifting and positioning techniques.
  • Provide care that aligns with the age-specific needs of our diverse patient population.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and the ability to operate dynamic surgical equipment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and basic computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and remain focused under stress.
  • Exposed to various hazards, including mechanical and electrical, and must take precautions accordingly.
