Description

The Defense group at Leidos is seeking a dynamic Network Security Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support for systems associated with the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) at Scott AFB, IL.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently configure Palo Alto enclave firewalls and other Information Assurance Networking assets to bolster security.

  • Perform necessary patching, STIGs, upgrades, and updates on IA-related assets to maintain system integrity.

  • Manage and enforce security strategies and policies in alignment with established guidelines.

  • Oversee IT Security Strategy, Cyber Security, and Compliance, supporting both the IT Security and Compliance Teams.

  • Create and maintain thorough system documentation and support accreditation activities.

  • Complete accreditation checklists and manage devices to effectively mitigate cyber security risks.

  • Assist in global projects for Network and Information Assurance upgrades by providing valuable technical insights, timelines, and resource assessments.

  • Implement recurring security protocols on network devices to ensure ongoing protection.

  • Collaborate with multi-tier support and global partners to enhance troubleshooting efforts.

  • Utilize system administration skills in both Linux and Windows environments to navigate current systems while managing network assets.

  • Lead focused multi-tier teams in troubleshooting and upgrading global network challenges.

  • Provide recommendations on architectural and topology improvements to enhance efficiencies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field with 4+ years of experience, or 8+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret with SCI.

  • Experience or training in IA and IA-supporting technologies, including Cisco and Juniper firewalls, authentication technologies like Active Directory, and vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus and nmap.

  • At least 3 years of experience in Linux or Windows environments.

  • Current DoD 8750 certification at IAT level II, such as Security+ce or higher.

  • Ability to satisfy both preparatory and sustaining DoD standard training and certification requirements as a condition of privileged access to any DoD information system.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced experience with Juniper technologies.

  • Experience with Gigamon Load Balancer.

  • Familiarity with VMware vSphere/ESXi 5.

  • ITIL certification.
