Receiving Quality Inspector (Temporary)

Job Purpose:

Sanmina is looking for a Receiving Quality Inspector to ensure the quality of materials received from vendors and subcontractors meets requirements.

Nature of Duties:

  • Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
  • Examines for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit.
  • Accurately reads and interprets specifications.
  • Inspects purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and other materials for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment and functional operation.
  • Inspects and measures items for conformance according to drawings, product data sheets, industry standards, and other specifications using precision measuring instruments and devices.
  • Approves or rejects items, and accurately records inspection and disposition information.
  • Records data on manual or computerized systems.
  • Informs management regarding non-conforming materials or products.
  • May inspect outgoing and production line parts and materials.
  • May perform manufacturing audits against control plans to validate conformance to process requirements.
  • Complies with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • High Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years related experience
  • Practical experience in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to use standard inspection, measurement and test equipment
  • Must be able to read and understand diagrams, drawings and detailed instructions
  • Proficient computer and data entry skills required
  • Experience working with an ERP preferred (Oracle preferred)
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Able to work with Google Suite and Maestro Invoicing Tool
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Has willingness to learn, takes initiative, and offers improvement ideas
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent punctuality, good attendance, and reliability required
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as needed


Physical Demands

Work is performed in a warehouse environment. Required to stand, walk, sit , stoop, bend; talk and hear in person; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers; repetitive motion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Occasionally may need to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push and pull or otherwise move objects.
