Title or Role: Compliance & Audit Specialist
Compensation: $165,000 + Cash and Stock bonuses + benefits (commensurate with experience)
Location: New York City + 50% Domestic Travel

Company Description: Our Client is an industrial-scale data center construction and operations company. They allocate data center opportunities between bitcoin mining and other high performance computing services, such as AI. They continue to develop their pipeline of power capacity at high-quality data center sites, either for bitcoin mining or HPC.

Position Description:
RCM is seeking a Compliance & Audit Specialist to help drive the growth and maturity of our client's compliance program across their expanding data center operations. This role is central to ensuring that their facilities and services meet the rigorous expectations of enterprise clients. The primary focus will be supporting SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 certifications, while contributing to a roadmap that includes other frameworks such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, and FedRAMP. The Specialist will work closely with finance, operations, IT, and legal to implement, monitor, and evidence controls related to security, availability, and confidentiality.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with auditors and compliance partners to ensure controls are properly designed, documented, and consistently followed.
  • Build scalable processes for evidence collection, control testing, and audit readiness.
  • Conduct internal audits of IT, operations, and vendor processes to verify compliance with policies and controls.
  • Manage the SOC 2 audit process, including evidence collection, remediation tracking, audit logs, and liaison with external auditors.
  • Document and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and control evidence.
  • Perform periodic access reviews, incident logging, and vendor risk assessments.
  • Strengthen trust with clients by ensuring we can demonstrate world-class security and compliance.
  • Track compliance metrics and provide regular updates to leadership.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in IT compliance, IT audit, security operations, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with SOC 2 evidence collection, control monitoring, or audit support.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or FedRAMP.
  • Experience working with auditors or regulators.
  • Exposure to compliance automation platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem solving.

Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
  • Professional certifications are not required but nice to have (CISA, Security+, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, or CCSK).
