Description

We are seeking a dynamic Field Engineering Specialist to join our innovative and energetic team. In this essential role, you will collaborate with various electric utility disciplines, carrying out field inspections, engineering design tasks, and technical calculations that enhance our operations. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with multiple stakeholders such as permit agencies, right-of-way experts, system owners, and leaders from various departments to ensure successful project execution.

Additionally, you will provide vital engineering support during construction phases, conducting post-construction reviews to verify compliance with engineering and construction standards. Your expertise will also be critical in conducting root cause analyses for outages and developing mitigation strategies based on sound engineering principles and design. You will engage with technical design and client standards to ensure high quality and timely delivery of design outputs.

Location: Candidates should reside within commuting distance to the Pittsburg/Western PA area, as travel to customer sites within this region will be required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review client-provided work and assess project scope requirements.
  • Provide engineering support throughout the construction process, including thorough post-construction evaluations.
  • Analyze outages to determine root causes and suggest effective mitigation solutions.
  • Travel to various job sites for inspections before returning to the office for design work.

What You Will Bring to the Table:

  • Level 1: High school diploma or equivalent with 6+ months of relevant experience.
  • Level 2: High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of relevant experience preferred; an Associate's Degree or higher in engineering technology or a related field is a plus.
  • Physical capability to walk at least one mile, use a 3 lb hammer, and perform fieldwork daily.
  • Flexibility to engage in both field and office tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently, managing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor settings for fieldwork as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Pay Range: $33,150.00 - $59,925.00

The Leidos pay range for this position is a guideline and is not an assurance of salary. Compensation offers consider various factors, including the role's responsibilities, candidate’s education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
