POSITION SUMMARY

Your role as a CT Scan Technologist is crucial in providing high-quality imaging procedures to our patients. You will work with patients and physicians in a respectful, efficient manner while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education / Training:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Accreditation through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Must be registered in the subspecialty of CT or registry eligible; must pass CT registry within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience:

  • Preference for one year of hospital experience in CT, but we are willing to train.

Equipment and Skills Training:

  • Knowledge of CT scanning, with preference for experience with GE CT equipment.

Physical Environment:

  • Adhere to radiation safety and universal precautions in a multi-modality imaging department.

Physical Effort:

  • Ability to perform multifunctional tasks: operate equipment, assist patients, move wheelchairs/stretchers, lift 20 pounds, communicate effectively, and make sound decisions in urgent situations.
  • Willingness to be on-call for STAT, Urgent, or Routine studies after hours and weekends as needed.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

  1. Verify patient identification and physician orders for accuracy before proceeding with studies.
  2. Communicate with female patients ages 12-50 regarding the possibility of pregnancy and document information.
  3. Document information about allergies and medical history for patients receiving intravenous contrast media.
  4. Ensure proper radiation safety protection for everyone involved, following ALARA principles.
  5. Communicate any problems or opportunities for care improvement.
  6. Maintain patient dignity by ensuring they are covered during exams and transport.
  7. Check on patients in waiting areas for comfort and pain management.
  8. Demonstrate leadership and teamwork in challenging situations.
  9. Volunteer for overtime or fill-in shifts as needed.
  10. Ensure patient safety during transfers from wheelchairs/stretchers to tables.
  11. Consistently perform high-quality imaging studies.
  12. Collaborate effectively with team members to optimize equipment use and fulfill physician and patient requests.
