Schedule Details:
Full-time evening shift, with options for 8 or 10-hour shifts. You will have a balanced call schedule, typically including overnight and weekend calls.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient surgical area ensuring optimal patient care.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques to prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Set up and break down the operating room for each case, ensuring environmental hygiene and safety.
  • Assist surgeons and other staff during procedures and maintain a sterile field.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of any equipment or supply issues.
  • Transport patients, equipment, and supplies safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure equipment is functional and sterile, managing specialty carts and items effectively.
  • Provide age-appropriate care, adapting techniques to meet the specific needs of patients.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, to be acquired within 6 months of hire unless otherwise determined by the department leader.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • No prior experience required.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and operating room protocols.
  • Familiarity with surgical equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Lift and carry moderate to heavy weights and assist with patient transfers.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment such as masks and gloves.
  • Must have functional sight and hearing.
