Schedule/Hours: Full-time evening shifts, with 8 or 10-hour options, Monday to Friday including overnight call slots and potential weekend coverage. Must arrive within 30 minutes when on call.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient operating room setting.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques and prepare surgical materials and equipment.
  • Assist in positioning patients and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Support surgical teams as a Second Assistant.
  • Address any supply or equipment issues promptly.
  • Maintain specialty carts and ensure readiness for procedures.
  • Perform patient transport and positioning duties safely.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of development for age-appropriate care.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within 6 months of hiring.

Education Required:

  • Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology.

Experience Required:

  • No prior experience necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and operating room equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing education for certification maintenance.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull 30 lbs., and assist in sliding transfers.
  • Must have vision and hearing capabilities to perform job duties.
  • Regular exposure to operational hazards including mechanical and chemical.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) including masks, gloves, and gowns is required.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and engage in physical activity throughout shifts.
