Interventional Cardiologist Job Details
- Position Type: Locum tenens (contract/travel) - Interventional Cardiologist
- Healthcare Setting: Inpatient cardiology
- Location: Petersburg, VA 23805 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
- Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with potential to extend
- Start Date: February 9, 2026
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,350 - $7,520
- Documentation System: EPIC EMR
- Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
- Active Virginia medical license (required)
- DEA certification (required)
- BLS/ACLS certification (required)
- Fellowship trained in Interventional Cardiology (highly preferred)
- Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of application (required)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in interventional cardiology
- Deliver inpatient interventional cardiology coverage
- Perform advanced cardiac procedures: heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), coronary angioplasty, balloon angioplasties, carotid artery stenting, coronary angiograms, embolic protection, and atherectomy
- Provide care for adult and geriatric patient populations
- Utilize EPIC EMR for clinical documentation
- No supervision of other healthcare providers required
- Work independently as the sole interventional cardiologist during coverage
