Pump Technician

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Onsite
CONTEXT: Our client is seeking an experienced Pump Technician to support maintenance and repair operations on portable pump systems powered by air-cooled diesel engines. This role focuses on mechanically driven trash pumps that utilize straightforward control systems and centrifugal pump ends.
The ideal candidate has a solid background in engine-driven pump systems and is comfortable performing hands-on mechanical work with minimal electrical complexity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on trash pumps with Deutz 912/913 engines.
- Service centrifugal pump ends, including clutches, seals, and other components.
- Diagnose mechanical issues with minimal reliance on wiring or electronic controls.
- Ensure proper assembly, disassembly, and reinstallation of pumps.
- Conduct routine inspections and document maintenance activities.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure pumps are available and reliable for field use.
- Experience working on Deutz 912/913 engines preferred.
- Strong knowledge of centrifugal-style pump systems and components.
- Proven ability to perform clutch and seal repairs.
- Mechanically inclined with troubleshooting skills.
- Oilfield services or heavy equipment repair experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
