A Brief Overview

As an Auto Glass Installation Technician Apprentice, you will be trained to become a skilled auto glass technician. After completing our comprehensive training program, you will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification and acquire the essential skills needed to perform glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations independently. We expect you to embrace the Safelite Spirit with a positive attitude, a caring heart, and a commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction by delivering timely and high-quality service.

What you will do

• Participate in hands-on and classroom training, learning the Safelite way.
• Observe and assist in the installation and repair of auto glass.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot issues, and perform diagnostic tests.
• Provide additional services and products as needed.
• Study and pass examinations to become a certified Safelite Technician, demonstrating proficiency in installations and positive customer interactions.
• Safely operate both company and customer vehicles, as well as company-issued tools and chemicals throughout your workday.
• Complete other assigned duties and adhere to all company policies and standards.

What you'll receive:

• Competitive weekly pay starting at $19.25/hour, increasing to $22.75/hour after training and certification.
• Earn an additional $5 per set of wiper blades added for customer safety.

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent is preferred.
• A valid state-issued driver's license (and any other required licenses) is necessary to operate a company vehicle.

Experience Qualifications

• You must be 18 years of age or older.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces, bending and twisting your body.
• Proficiency in using various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Capability to operate a vehicle in accordance with all relevant laws, agreeing to be monitored through in-cab safety camera/video surveillance technology.
• Demonstrating a high level of professionalism and a passion for exceptional customer service.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods.
• Ability to safely handle chemicals used in the fitting process.
• Flexibility in work hours to meet customer needs.
• Proficient in computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
• Effective communication skills to read, write, and interpret English, including technical directions.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance, adhering to the company’s dress code and PPE policies.
• Resilience under pressure to maintain productivity and performance standards.
