Position Summary
To provide chair side assistance to a licensed dentist and to instruct and assist dental students in four-handed dentistry.
The employee will provide chair side assistance to dentists and dental students in a variety of specialties which include but not limited to; Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics, Pedodontics, Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics. The employee will work under the supervision of the Dental Hygienist Clinic Coordinator.

LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry Pediatric Department is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Dental Assistant 1, 2 or 3
Pay is dependent upon applicants' qualifications. There is an additional $1 Longevity Pay for hours worked only. Additional $2.25 per hour worked available for candidates that hold a current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification.Core competencies include:

Focusing on Customers: The ability to serve the needs of those who support and/or rely on the services provided. Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to comply with policies and procedures of the organization as well as State Civil Service rules, and all applicable federal and state laws.
