Winthrop Harbor School District 1 Winthrop Harbor School District is looking for a Part-Time Bus Driver
Hours would be approximately 7:30am - 10:00am on school days, plus occasional field trips, and afternoon sport events.
Location: North Prairie Jr. High - 500 North Ave., Winthrop Harbor, IL
Hourly Pay: starting at $23.00
DESCRIPTION:
Provides a safe, clean and properly maintained bus to transport students
QUALIFICATIONS:
- License: CDL Bus Permit
- Education: Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Preferred one (1) year of experience as a bus driver
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obeys all traffic laws
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
- Maintains discipline when students are on the bus
- Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority
- Keeps bus clean
- Keeps to assigned schedule
- Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects
- Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness
- Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips
- Transports only authorized students
- Reports all accidents and completes required reports
- Performs other duties that may be assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Manual Dexterity: Work requires definite skilled and accurate physical operations requiring some closely coordinated performance.
Working Conditions: Some exposure to definitely disagreeable elements may exist.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Works as needed during the school year. Non-exempt. Union position.
EVALUATION: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement
