Hydraulics Technician - Savage, MN

Road Machinery & Supplies Co., a Distributor of Heavy Construction Equipment, is seeking to fill a Hydraulics Technician position for its Hydraulics division in Savage, MN. Qualified candidates will be responsible for Hydraulic shop mechanical repairs, daily operational duties, and hose fabrications. This position also fulfills the duties of the general duty hydraulic cylinder shop mechanic, while also working as the shop check in and check out person.

Responsibilities:
  • Cylinder rod polishing
  • Painting completed cylinders.
  • Barrell Honing
  • Make hydraulic hoses.
  • Tube bending & Fab.
  • Tear down and assembly.
  • Shop entrance check in and check out customer's orders.
  • Greet customers and offer excellent customer service from intake to release of repaired unit.
  • Translate customer-reported concerns to actionable work orders for technicians to repair.
  • Order necessary parts from suppliers and deliver to technicians.
  • Invoice and collect payment from customers for services rendered.
  • Maintain customer records and enter data into computer database.
  • Ensure work provided to customers meets company quality standards.
  • General shipping and receiving duties.
  • Fill out check in sheets & tags for all inbound cylinders.
  • Make hydraulic hoses.
  • Fill branch transfer orders.
  • Some parts inventory/stocking duties
Required Skills:
  • A Multi-tasked employee with excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work with all levels of an organization is desired.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate customer needs to workable repair orders.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs including word processing and database tools.
Minimum Physical Requirements:
  • Push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • Lift/carry up to 60 lbs
  • Lift bulky objects
  • Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, high steps, fingering/grasping.
  • Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
