About the Job:

The ideal candidate will be a resourceful Purchasing Agent supporting the Marketing team. This person will also work in partnership with other various departments throughout the organization. The position will handle all purchasing for marketing props and store elements, as well as track and report on all expenses for the Marketing team. The ideal person will be organized, detailed and highly accurate in all reporting functions.

A day in the life, what you’ll be doing:

  • Sources and purchases commodities in support of Company’s Visual and Marketing team requirements
  • Evaluates and selects suppliers for existing and potential procurement needs
  • Negotiates best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements
  • Creates and issues purchase orders for various items and services
  • Performs or monitors follow-up activity involving purchase orders to ensure delivery schedules are met and items are properly received
  • Resolution of delinquent deliveries and purchase order discrepancies
  • Builds shipping lists and kitting matrices
  • Works closely with business partners and 3PL vendor to maintain accurate levels of inventory
  • Prepares shipment alerts for Store Operations team
  • Prepares monthly financial reports
  • Works closely with accountant at month end to reconcile spend
  • Works closely with Marketing Director to assist department personnel with expense report tracking
  • Maintains invoice tracking binders
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor
What it takes to Join:
  • 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office ability, primarily in Excel
  • Adherence to purchasing policies, processes and procedures
  • Some understanding/knowledge of accounting principles
  • Resourceful and able to work with tight deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to work independently
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; as well as reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
  • Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.
  • Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building.
  • Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel may be required.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. As a National Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
