About the Role:

The role of Union Facilities Maintenance Technician at CBRE is a dynamic, hands-on position that encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including performing essential maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and various building systems at a commercial facility in Joliet. This position combines practical technical skills with a commitment to safety and compliance with building codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections, identify potential issues, and execute timely repairs.
  • Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems as necessary.
  • Review and estimate work orders, assess the time and materials required, and use systems to track progress.
  • Support energy management efforts by ensuring building systems function efficiently.
  • Inspect new and existing installations for adherence to building codes and safety regulations.
  • Follow established work routines and standards, ensuring all tasks are executed effectively with guidance.
  • Utilize existing procedures to address straightforward problems and communicate information clearly.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamics by executing defined responsibilities and methods.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience with 1-2 years in a relevant role.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, standing, and climbing.
  • Capability to follow established work routines and standards accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills for exchanging essential information.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.

The annual compensation for this role aligns with the Collective Bargaining Agreement at a rate of $56,160. Additional benefits include 401(K), dental insurance, health insurance, life insurance, and vision insurance.
