Job Summary
As a Retail Pharmacist, you will:
- Review and ensure the accuracy of prescriptions while assessing ingredient suitability.
- Provide comprehensive information regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosing, and proper medication storage.
- Dispense both prescription and non-prescription medications to patients.
- Take an active role in addressing prescription concerns and advising healthcare providers on medication selection and usage.
- Counsel patients on their medications, covering administration, side effects, expected responses, and any other queries.
- Monitor patient health and progress in relation to their drug therapy.
- Utilize and adapt to the latest pharmacy technologies as the field evolves.
- Provide oversight and clinical supervision for pharmacy support staff.
Pharmacy services may involve various specialties, including acute care surgery, neurology, cardiology, pediatrics, oncology, infusion services, intensive care, general medicine, dialysis, transplant, antimicrobial stewardship, and medication reconciliation. Responsibilities might also include direct patient interactions, interdisciplinary team rounding, chart reviews, and accurately maintaining medication lists.
Qualifications
To qualify for this role, you must:
- Be a graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of pharmaceuticals and relevant actions.
- Have a valid license in good standing from the State Board of Pharmacy.
