Maintenance Technician I General Administrative

Purpose:

Under direct supervision, the Maintenance Technician I is an entry level position and is responsible for maintaining and servicing our companys fleet of vehicles and equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicles. This position requires a skilled individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to quality workmanship. Performs duties under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Leads.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Ensures operation of mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices.
• Conduct routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools.
• Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other vehicle components.
• Conduct safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergencies promptly.
• Keep tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
• Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories.
• Conserve maintenance resources.
• Provide mechanical maintenance information.
• Prepare mechanical maintenance reports.
• Maintain technical knowledge.
• Maintain continuity among work teams.
• Contribute to team effort.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• High school diploma or equivalent to general education degree (GED)
• 1 2 years of related experience including vocational training in automotive, or diesel mechanics preferred
• Or 2-3 years equivalent combination of education and experience
• Possession of relevant certifications, such as ASE or equivalent is a plus
• Valid driver's license, adhere to DOT regulations, CDL Commercial is a plus

Work Environment / Physical Activity:

• Must be able to work flexible hours including overtime as needed.
• May be required to drive to other facilities.
• Regularly required to stand; sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance and talk or hear.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
• Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
