Grounds Technician

Canterbury Court is looking for a Grounds Technician to join our family. This is a full-time position located in the Plant Operations division of our Life Plan Community (LPC). The Grounds Technician must have a sincere desire to serve older adults in a quality continuing care setting and must strive to provide excellence and consistency in facilities. Perform light maintenance work
Perform grounds keeping work
Pressure washing sidewalks and walking paths
Empty trash cans
Keep outside building and walkways cleaned of trash
Take care of work orders for Garden Committee and residents
Assist residents with their personal garden
Keep greenhouse and orchid house clean and organized
Keep bird feeders and fountains full and in working condition
Diagnose/repair sprinkler issues
Pull weeds & prune shrubs, bushes, and trees as necessary to maintain the garden
Water Plants outside when necessary
Keep sidewalks and walking paths clear of debris
Maintain pathway lighting
Pre-treat sidewalks and pathways with salt during winter months
Assist in the management of the landscaping contractor
Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Plant Operations
Requirements
Minimum High School Graduate
Must have a thorough knowledge of general gardening, landscaping & pruning.
