Role: School Maintenance Technician

Pay Rate: $17/hr

Hours: Mon-Fri (3-11pm)

Location: 172 Rutledge Ave, Charleston, SC

Responsibilities:

  • Perform custodial and cleaning tasks to uphold quality standards and safety protocols.
  • Utilize protective gear during all cleaning operations.
  • Complete cleaning assignments promptly.
  • Notify supervisors of equipment needs or cleaning product malfunctions.
  • Dust mop and damp mop floors in classrooms and common areas.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, and shared spaces.
  • Dispose of trash and empty wastebaskets regularly.
  • Respond quickly to paging system alerts and requests from staff and students.
  • Adhere to infection control and universal precautions to ensure cleanliness.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous custodial experience in a school environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions efficiently.
  • Willingness to consistently perform routine tasks.
  • Must be able to work independently after training.
  • Punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts are essential.
  • Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours daily.
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work around food and various cleaning chemicals.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies as required.
  • A criminal background check is required.
