- During initial license training, total compensation earnings may range from $159,000.00 to $182,000.00 annually (based on experience and prior license status), which includes a 15% annual incentive bonus, an initial sign-on bonus, and a $10,000 bonus distributed through training milestones.
- Upon obtaining the SRO license, total compensation earnings eligibility rises to $191,000.00 per year, including a target 15% bonus, a License Premium, and overtime pay at 1.5 times base salary for mandatory operational shifts.
Relocation Assistance: We may offer relocation assistance based on eligibility under the Company's policy.
Constellation is seeking Initial License Trainees (ILT) to prepare for a licensed Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) role, supporting the Dresden Nuclear Station located in Morris, IL, with the ILT class commencing in June 2026.
The main objective of this position is to train and get ready to assume the responsibilities of an Operations Shift Supervisor holding an SRO License. Upon successful completion of the training, the candidates will be licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to oversee licensed activities of reactor operators in the reactor control room and directly supervise equipment operators.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage in Initial License Training (ILT) which consists of both classroom education and hands-on training with thorough evaluations.
- Complete all training phases successfully to acquire an SRO license and perform the operations supervisor duties.
- Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as instructed by management or in line with company policies, including emergency response, departmental coverage, call-outs, and support for outage activities in other roles.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Choose from one of the following criteria:
- Possess 1 year of Reactor Operator license at a comparable facility or 1.5 years at a non-comparable facility (PWR to PWR or BWR to BWR; non-comparable PWR to BWR or BWR to PWR).
- Have 1.5 years or more in an equivalent Reactor Operator (or Supervisor) position at military reactors (e.g., Power Plant Watch Engineer, Engineering Watch Supervisor, Reactor Operator, Engineering Officer of the Watch, or Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor) with a minimum of 1.5 years post-qualification.
- Hold a degree in engineering, engineering technology, or physical sciences from a 4-year institution or possess a professional engineer license with over 1.5 years as a qualified non-licensed operator or supervisor/manager in relevant fields. For non-comparable facility qualifications, a 1.5:1.0 experience ratio applies (e.g., 2.25 years needed for non-comparable facility), or a 3-year requirement for nontraditional degrees.
- Be able to maintain the minimum access requirements for unescorted access, along with passing a medical examination or required tests as per position responsibility.
