The Opportunity
As a dedicated Injury Claims Adjuster, you will focus on adjusting non-attorney involved soft tissue bodily injury or auto PIP/MP medical claims. This includes confirming coverage, determining liability, investigating details, evaluating claims, negotiating outcomes, and adhering to state laws and regulations. Deliver a concierge-level member service experience through effective communication and empathy.
This hybrid role requires you to be in the office 3 days per week, with the potential for flexibility. This position is based in San Antonio, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Colorado Springs, CO; Chesapeake, VA; or Tampa, FL. Please note that relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Training Schedule: Mandatory training for 5 weeks; PTO not allowed during this period.
Work Schedule: Must be available to work Monday - Friday, between 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Your Responsibilities:
- Adjust soft tissue and complex 1st party PIP/MP medical claims.
- Identify and confirm coverage on soft tissue claims.
- Investigate claims, determine legal liability, evaluate, negotiate, and adjudicate claims in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance and set member expectations through proactive communication.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and escalate matters when necessary.
- Partner with vendors and business partners to ensure timely claims resolution.
- Deliver a best-in-class service experience through effective communication.
- Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations, including on-call dates and potential after-hours work.
- May require travel for CAT deployment during designated events.
- Manage a variety of claims, including those of higher complexity, and assist in other duties as needed.
- Ensure effective identification, measurement, monitoring, and control of risks associated with business activities.
Your Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
- 1 year of experience in injury adjusting or auto liability adjusting, including complex vehicle damage claims.
- Working knowledge of auto claims contracts, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and state regulations.
- Skills in negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution.
- Strong problem-solving and prioritization abilities.
- Financial judgment and discretion in handling claims.
- Knowledge of coverage evaluation and loss assessment.
- Ability to acquire and maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days and three attempts.
What Makes You Stand Out:
- 2+ years of experience in Auto Liability/Casualty adjusting, specifically complex/multi-vehicle liability.
- 3+ years of experience in handling PIP/MedPay coverage.
- Engagement in ongoing professional development within insurance.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $57,970 - $97,820. Actual salary may vary based on experience and location.
