We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced VIP Host/Sales Member to join our dynamic team at Clevelander. The VIP Host/Sales Member will be responsible for managing the VIP and group reservations, front-of-house operations, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This role requires a friendly and professional demeanor, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
The VIP Host/Sales Member is responsible for delivering a high-touch, high-energy VIP experience while driving reservations, table sales, and repeat clientele. This role leads the front-of-house VIP operation. This includes guest list management and VIP arrivals to service coordination, issue resolution, and team performance, ensuring every guest interaction reflects Clevelander South Beach standards.
Pay: $42,000 + Commission
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive VIP reservations and table sales through outreach, relationship-building, and daily follow-ups.
- Maintain and grow a book of business (repeat guests, corporate contacts, local partners, and promoters as applicable).
- Upsell premium tables, experiences, and event offerings while protecting brand standards and guest satisfaction.
- Track nightly results and key metrics (covers, spend, comps, retention, feedback).
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly and professionally. Resolve any issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate seating and guest arrangements for reservations and large parties.
- Presents a warm, welcoming, and outgoing first impression to guests entering and/or passing by the property entrances.
- Delivers an enthusiastic and professional greeting to guests upon arrival at dining areas and adds them to the wait list when necessary.
- Provides guests with menus and answers any initial questions.
- Assign guests to tables in the venues they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive a manageable number of tables and a fair opportunity to interact and engage in the sales process.
- Engage with guests to ensure happiness with the food and beverage services they receive.
- Consistently delivers exceptional service to guests while entertaining in a professional manner in accordance with the Company's brand expectations.
- Build relationships with guests that add value to the guest experience.
- Serves as a Brand Ambassador for Clevelander, using finesse and good judgment.
- Always maintains and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures.
Other Functions:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the requirements of the hotel:
- Documents Maintenance issues.
- Attends required meetings.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Properly document all transactions.
- Take care of all platforms for reservations including table signs and sending calendar invites to managers for all reservations.
- Will need to go offsite to Secure new business.
- Will need to be available Friday and Saturday nights to be on property.
- Additional duties as necessary and assigned.
- At least 21 years of age; High school diploma required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Existing local network (hospitality partners, corporate contacts, concierges, event planners).
- Experience managing VIP table layouts, guest lists, and bottle service coordination.
- Consistently maintains a well-groomed appearance, posture and hygiene as deemed by management.
- Make-up, hair, appearance, and style are aligned with current fashion standards and trends as deemed by management and consistent with Clevelander brand.
- Outgoing personality is warm and friendly, demonstrates enthusiasm and professionalism, effective listening skills, strong judgment.
- Excellent customer service skills.

- Capable of describing all menu items, prices and methods of preparation and use of suggestive selling techniques to encourage the guests to choose items that are house specialties.

- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
