POSITION OVERVIEW
The Diesel Technician provides a vital link that ensures that all repairs are performed correctly and efficiently. This position is crucial to achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction by performing repairs and maintenance in accordance with current OEM practices and our company's policies and procedures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnoses cause of malfunction and performs repair.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Communicates with supervisor about any additional work, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order or additional repairs sheet.
- Road tests vehicles when required.
- Participates in manufacturer sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Assists other technicians with repairs when they are directed to do so.
- Keeps shop area neat and clean, cleans up after each repair.
Salary range for the Diesel Technician (depending on experience level) from $60,000 to $150,000.
ACTIVITY AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Employee safety is a prime concern. This position is a safety sensitive position and falls under the requirements of the RWC Drug and Alcohol policy.
High degree of product and technical knowledge
- Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer.
- Must be self-motivated and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must conduct his/herself in a professional manner
- Valid Driver's License Required.
