Project Manager, Spaces Design Build

Slalom is looking for a Project Manager (east coast preferred) to be part of a creative, fast-paced, and detail-oriented team of project managers, designers, and specialists. The Global Spaces team's mission is to design, deliver, and operate innovative, inspiring, and empowering workspaces for Slalom's portfolio of existing and expansion offices that represents not only our brand but the culture and people of each individual market (cities).
As part of the Spaces team, we are looking for an energetic and driven team member who sees a gap and can fill it. You will work closely with the internal leaders, team members/peers, industry partners, and external property managers, to deliver real estate and construction projects across the globe. You will be a critical part of planning, executing, and closing out projects by managing scope, budget, and schedule, while ensuring Slalom standards, branding, and culture are highly represented.
Additional work scope includes the development and management of workplace programs, including sustainability, occupancy planning, flexible (temporary) office and support of local market operations team members.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional time and project abilities and a demonstrated understanding of successful project management techniques to help the team achieve deliverables, maximize alignment, and keep to schedule/budget. Experience reviewing vendor contracts, strong construction budget management, and demonstrated time management/ delivery will enable the right candidate to contribute to the team through numerous concurrent projects. This critical position needs to successfully communicate and present to senior leadership through easily consumable material that includes supporting information, industry data, and analysis of Slalom-specific trends. The right candidate's calmness, oversight, and empathy create a problem-solving environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Manager, Design Build Project with managing end-to-end construction and office build-out projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to scope.
- Be a critical contributor to a team of creative designers, construction project managers, and specialists in the delivery of full lifecycle corporate office design and buildouts.
- Interface and help ideate with Slalom's internal design team and external architectural/ design partners.
- Act as facilitator for weekly project OACs for multiple concurrent projects by Maintaining accurate meeting notes, action items, and project documentation
- Coordinate move-in activities and office setup, including furniture, equipment, and vendor installations.
- Work closely with internal teams (Finance, Executive Leadership, Operations, Office Managers, Admins) and external partners (General Contractors, Furniture Vendors, Move Vendors, Property Management, Real Estate Teams, Building Owners)
- Help identify tools to improve processes while supporting 8-10 real estate related projects annually.
- Compile and maintain the weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports that drive solid business decision-making.
- Support vendor negotiation and RFP response review for cost, validity, and warranty.
- Create and maintain positive relationships with key vendors for ongoing operational support.
- Review architectural drawings for Slalom need and usability.
- Suggest and use tools that provide insight and analytics in the areas of Corporate Real Estate including but not limited to project budgets, project schedules, performance/quality tracking, and local market customer post occupancy satisfaction.
- Inspire the trust and confidence of local market leaders when presenting and explaining programmatic space planning opportunities and trends.
- Champion process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills and emotional intelligence to maintain team cohesion.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with corporate office buildouts and/or operations management with a strong emphasis on construction management.
- 3-5 years of demonstrated project management (ideally focused on corporate fit outs).
- Substantial experience in presenting and managing construction budgets.
- Strong knowledge of construction/vendor contract negotiation and experience in vendor / contractor management.
- Intermediate interior design and space planning knowledge.
- Intermediate knowledge, and more importantly, a hunger to research municipal / building codes
- Advanced understanding of corporate real estate including lease negotiations, landlord incentives, and capital investment.
- Demonstrated experience in corporate office sustainability, including green materials and carbon/waste reduction equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to adopt and leverage AI tools and technologies to improve project management, analytics, and operational efficiency.
- Technology expertise: Advanced experience with Project Management software, SharePoint, Smart Sheet, and Office 365.
- Strong knowledge of how equity and accommodation play a part in post-pandemic workplace design.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
- Ability to travel
- Spanish, French, Japanses, or German speaking a plus as part of the portfolio that you will deliver on includes Slalom's international expansions.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted base salary pay range for this level is $105,000 to $125,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
