Summary: The Jr. Staff Accountant handles accounting tasks such as reconciliations, GL entries, and fixed assets, resolves customer queries, performs analysis and reporting, and ensures accurate, timely financial operations.

Compensation: This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $30 to $35 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $60,000 and $70,000 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely accounting in compliance with established accounting principles and deadlines.
  • Perform account reconciliations, including general ledger and bank accounts, and process necessary adjustments.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Prepare and post general ledger entries, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers via phone, email, or in person.
  • Conduct research and financial analysis to support decision-making and reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze reports using Excel to track financial performance.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including recording, depreciation, and reconciliation.
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • One (1) to Two (2) years of relevant accounting or finance experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excel proficiency with VLOOKUP and PivotTables
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Strong planning, organizing, scheduling, and monitoring skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
