Cruise Ship Assistant Terminal Manager

Insight Global is seeking an Assistant Terminal Manager at the cruise ship terminal in Seattle (Pier 91) for it's client taking over the lease there on January 2nd. Responsibilities of the role will include the following:

Stakeholder & Staff Support

*Act as a supporting contact for internal staff (Metro Cruise, Metro Shore, Terminal Security Solutions, Pacific Cruise Ship Terminals) and external stakeholders (customers, port agents, vendors), escalating issues to the Terminal Manager when needed.
*Assist in liaison duties with the port authority, attending meetings as directed and providing operational input.
*Support oversight of seasonal hourly PCST staff, ensuring tasks are completed and reporting performance concerns to the Terminal Manager.

Facility Operations & Maintenance

*Assist in coordinating maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of terminal facilities in collaboration with the Office Manager, Port Maintenance team, and third-party contractors.
*Support and monitor the janitorial team, ensuring cleanliness standards are met before ship days.
*Help prepare terminals for operations by checking lighting, access points, and cleanliness prior to vessel arrivals.
*Assist in managing vendors providing services (e.g., escalators, elevators, plumbing, vending machines), reporting issues and ensuring timely service.
*Support scheduling and execution of inspections as recommended by manufacturers or required by regulatory bodies.
*Maintain and update records on terminal equipment and facilities, ensuring operational readiness.

Vessel Operations

*Assist with berthing requests from port agents and cruise line clients, keeping the berthing calendar updated.
*Work alongside Stevedores to create and update vessel mooring plans, ensuring safe and efficient docking.
*Participate in ship day operations, coordinating with vessel crews and terminal staff to ensure smooth passenger and cargo handling.

Compliance & Security

*Support enforcement of regulations, procedures, and policies required by regulatory bodies and the port authority.
*Act as Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in conducting audits, inspections, and maintaining the Facility Security Plan (FSP).
*Help ensure security awareness and vigilance among facility personnel, including assisting with training and recordkeeping.
*Record and report security incidents or threats, escalating to the Terminal Manager and relevant authorities.
*Assist in executing Declarations of Security with vessel representatives when required.
*Support testing, calibration, and maintenance of security equipment.
*Brief staff on changes in MARSEC Levels and assist in coordinating responses to security incidents.

Administrative & Financial Support

*Assist with external reporting to cruise lines, port authority, and internal stakeholders.
*Provide input to the Terminal Manager and Senior Director of Operations on budget preparation and forecasts, and help monitor monthly performance.
*Support oversight of the third-party car parking vendor, assisting with reconciliation of financial performance.
*Help with ordering supplies, preparing purchase orders, and processing invoices for terminal services.
*Report all work-related incidents/accidents via the EHS system and hotline in a timely manner.
*Work with HR to ensure staff compliance with HR policies and procedures.

General Duties

*Maintain positive working relationships with cruise line customers, vendors, port authority staff, CBP, USCG, port police, and other agencies.
*Ensure safety, security, and environmental compliance are upheld in all operations.
*Travel may be required to other ports on the West Coast to support operations.
*Compile and review documentation for client invoice submission to finance department in relation to PCST.
Additional duties as required.

Required Skills & Experience

*5 years maritime operational experience, or leadership in a similar highly regulated environment (I.e. logistics)
*Knowledge of cruise line guest operations and/or port operations and/or facilities management
*Ability to obtain a TWIC and Facility Security Officer certification
*Certification in basic first aid and CPR
*Experience managing a staff.
*Excellent customer service skills.
*Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
*Business acumen to negotiate contracts/with vendors desirable.
*Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field of study (flexible)

*Cruise ship or maritime industry experience
