American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 1 year of experience, NBSTSA certification, and the ability to work a range of complex surgical cases in an acute care setting.

Job Details

• Work in a community hospital with 12 operating rooms,
• Day shift schedule of 4x10s, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm,
• On-call required: 2 call shifts per week with weekend call every fifth weekend,
• Float within surgical service lines as needed (no floating to sister facilities),
• Handle cases including Neuro Surgery, Vascular Thoracic, Orthopedics/Spine (including total joints), with experience in robotics cases preferred,
• Epic EMR preferred,
• Radiation badge required and must be provided by agency,
• Scrubs are provided,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of well-rounded CST experience required,
• NBSTSA certification required; NCCT not accepted,
• BLS required (AHA only),
• Experience with Neuro Surgery, Vascular Thoracic, and Orthopedics/Spine including total joints required,
• Experience with General, Urology, and GYN Robotics preferred,
• Epic EMR experience preferred,
• Must provide valid SSN and driver's license for consideration,
• Radiation badge must be supplied by candidate's agency,
• License required if applicable,
• Must meet 60-mile radius rule; no local candidates accepted,

Additional Information

• Responsible for preparing and maintaining a sterile operative field and assisting surgical team during procedures,
• Participation in assigned call and weekend coverage is required,
• Successfully complete required pre-start modules,
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of application; approval based on facility needs,
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment,
• Previous staff (including PRN) must have a 1-year separation from the facility before returning as a traveler,
• Be prepared for potential assignment to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November),
• Only one active assignment to a single facility/unit permitted at a time,
