Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center is Wisconsin's largest hospital, known for exceptional care and innovative services. As a Surgery Technologist, your role in the Operating Room is crucial. Your skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure can make a significant difference in patients' lives.

Schedule/Hours: Full-time evening shifts, with 8 or 10-hour schedules, Monday to Friday. On-call responsibilities mostly overnight and occasional weekends, with a 30-minute response time.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe, clean environment for optimal patient care and utilize proper aseptic techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and supplies for various procedures.
  • Assist with room setup for each case, including the operation of necessary equipment.
  • Act as a second assistant when required.
  • Notify staff of any equipment or supply issues promptly.
  • Transport patients and equipment, ensuring safety at all times.
  • Maintain specialty carts, ensuring readiness and compliance with sterility requirements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care practices and patient safety considerations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association within 6 months.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • No prior experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of aseptic techniques and equipment in the operating room.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry weights as detailed in the physical demands.
  • Must use protective gear and work with potential hazards.
