Operations Training Specialist

Expected salary range of $106,200 to $118,000, based on experience, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package including bonuses and 401(k).

Senior Operations Training Specialist

Expected salary range of $135,000 to $150,000, based on experience, combined with a comprehensive benefits package including bonuses and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

We seek an individual who demonstrates exceptional skills and comprehensive knowledge in analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, evaluating, and proposing modifications to Operations training programs specific to nuclear licensing.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enhance personnel development at the clean energy center (CEC) by delivering performance-based Reactor Operator (RO)/Non-Licensed Operator (NLO) training programs tailored to community needs, following Constellation's structured training approach.
  • Ensure that training materials remain up-to-date, incorporating insights from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, Nuclear Regulatory Commission bulletins, and other essential regulatory and operational documents.
  • Design trainee examinations, evaluate trainee performance across classroom, lab, OJT, and simulator settings, and provide guidance during counseling sessions, recommending individualized training when needed.
  • Support organizational initiatives, special projects, emergency preparedness, and refuel outages as required.
  • Participate in audits from the NRC and INPO and prepare responses to audit findings to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of plant operations and training techniques to deliver high-quality training.
  • Oversee the collection and maintenance of training records to ensure compliance with documentation standards.
  • Achieve Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by management, including emergency response and support for outages.

Minimum Qualifications for Operations Training Specialist

  • High school diploma/GED with 6 years of related experience OR
  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline with 4 years of relevant experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Must meet ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 standards for personnel selection, qualification, and training in nuclear power operations.
  • Must hold or obtain necessary access clearance based on position duties and pass medical examinations as required.

Minimum Qualifications for Senior Operations Training Specialist

  • Previous experience as an Equipment Operator with 6 years of relevant experience OR
  • Associate's degree with at least 4 years of nuclear industry experience OR
  • Current or previous licensed Reactor Operator or SRO certification with 4 years of relevant experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3 years of nuclear experience or 4 years of related experience OR
  • Current or previous SRO license holder.
  • All requirements must meet ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 standards for personnel selection.
  • Must meet necessary access clearance requirements and pass appropriate medical evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial nuclear training environments.
  • Knowledge of the systematic approach to training (SAT).
