What We're Seeking
We are on the lookout for seasoned and certified inpatient coders to join our team. The perfect candidate will have exceptional attention to detail and an extensive understanding of medical terminology. This fully remote role comes with a flexible schedule, empowering you to contribute to the future of healthcare right from your workspace
Your Key Responsibilities:

Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.

Abstract and accurately sequence medical codes from patient records, ensuring both precision and compliance with documentation standards.

Supervise and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders, as applicable.

Identify opportunities for documentation improvement and resolve coding issues in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and a 95% accuracy rate for MS-DRG assignments.

Meet site-specific productivity benchmarks consistently.

Engage in professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff to address clinical and reimbursement matters.
Requirements for Success:

At least 3 years of recent experience in inpatient coding within a facility.

CCS, RHIT, or RHIA credential preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
What Makes You Stand Out:
-
Associate or Bachelor's degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program, or completion of an AHIMA/AAPC certificate program, favoring CCS.

At least 3 years of inpatient coding experience at a Level I Trauma Center, ideally within an academic medical setting.

Experience managing significant coding quality review feedback.

Familiarity with computerized encoding and abstracting software.

The salary range for this position varies based on location, responsibilities, skills, experience, and other role requirements.
The estimated hourly pay for this role is between $32 and $42 USD.
To prioritize the safety of patients and staff, many of our partners require post-offer health screenings and proof of various vaccinations, including the flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19, etc. Requests for exemptions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by Datavant Human Resources, depending on the specifics of the circumstance.
