Job Description
Job Title: Central Sterile Technician
Profession: Central Sterile Technician

Hours per Shift: 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM
Experience: Minimum 1 year, 2-4 years preferred
License: No specific license required
Certifications: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) required

Must-Have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of case cart assembly
- Familiarity with the regulatory standards of materials management
- Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance

Description:
Responsible for performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment in accordance with established procedures, infection control standards, industry standards, recommended practices on sterilization, and regulatory requirements.
Processes specialty and general instruments.
Resets instrument sets without error.
Decontaminates instruments and equipment according to procedure.
Maintains Central Sterile Department stock levels.
Prepares and assembles surgical trays and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing.
Communicates instrument repair needs to supervisor.
