We are currently recruiting for a NON PROFIT ACCOUNTANT to join a mission-driven organization dedicated to community support. This role is essential to maintaining the financial integrity of the agency by executing advanced accounting functions and ensuring rigorous compliance with federal and state regulations.
The Role Reporting to the Senior Manager of Accounting, you will oversee complex general ledger activities and lead the month-end and year-end closing cycles. This is a Hybrid position requiring three days per week in the office. As a technical leader within the department, you will drive process improvements and support audit readiness across various financial functions.
salary: $40 - $45 per hour

Responsibilities
General Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Manage advanced journal entries (accruals, reclassifications, adjustments) and lead month/quarter/year-end close.
- Reconcile complex accounts, including bank/credit cards, fixed assets, intercompany, and deferred revenue.
- Analyze and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Organize supporting documentation for reporting, fixed asset schedules, and audit readiness.
- Prepare audit schedules and manage PBC (Provided by Client) requests for external and internal reviews.
- Coordinate compliance filings, including Sales/Use Tax, Environmental Fees, Census Reports, and Secretary of State filings.
- Assist with welfare exemption documentation and Assessor's Office communications.
- Oversee AP/AR journal entries, reconciliations, and aged-item resolution to ensure accuracy and internal control.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules (additions, disposals, depreciation) and lead annual inventory counts.
- Act as a finance liaison for internal departments on budgeting, compliance, and accounting procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing systems, internal controls, and cross-departmental workflows.
- Support daily operations, including invoice reviews, revenue postings, system upgrades, and special projects.
