About the Role:

The IT Support Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of all IT systems within our durable goods manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for providing timely and effective technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. The technician will collaborate closely with various departments to understand their technology needs and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, the role involves maintaining and updating IT documentation, assisting with system upgrades, and supporting the deployment of new technologies. Ultimately, the IT Support Technician ensures that all IT infrastructure supports the company's manufacturing processes reliably and securely.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT support or a similar technical role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, common business software, and basic networking concepts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with non-technical users and provide clear instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
  • Experience supporting IT systems in a durable goods manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and experience implementing security measures.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide first-line technical support to employees by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications used across the manufacturing facility.
  • Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and network devices, to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to implement technology upgrades and new system deployments.
  • Document support activities, maintain inventory of IT assets, and assist in developing IT policies and procedures.

The IT Support Technician utilizes technical troubleshooting skills daily to identify and resolve a wide range of hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
