Hive Group is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team.

In this key leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of Human Resources Management including employee development, performance management and organizational culture. The ideal candidate has exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of HR best practices, and the ability to drive HR initiatives that align with our company's goals and objectives.

The position will be hybrid with the expectation of being onsite at our McLean office, 80% of the time.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing HR strategies that support the organizations overall business objectives.
  • Overseeing employee training and development programs to enhance skills and career growth opportunities.
  • Fostering a positive organizational culture that promotes employee engagement, diversity and inclusion.
  • Managing the performance management process, ensuring that employees receive feedback and recognition.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal labor laws and regulations, implementing best practices in HR policies and procedures.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to address workforce planning and organizational development needs.
  • Utilize data and analytics to measure HR effectiveness and inform strategic decisions
  • Manage employee on-boarding programs to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Lead on strategies that align with the company's hiring needs and objectives.
  • Create and manage the HR budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct employee surveys and feedback sessions to assess satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and guide on employee relations issues.
  • Analyze HR metrics and reports to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement in HR processes.
  • Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering professional development and enhancing team performance.
  • Stay informed about HR trends and changes in labor laws to ensure the organization remains compliant.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive HR experience or senior HR leadership role.
  • Relevant certification in HR (e.g., SHRM, HRIC, CIPD)
  • Deep understanding of organizational development, employee engagement and change management.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices as well as local, state and federal employment laws.
  • Familiar with HR software and systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a data-driven approach to HR decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change within a company.
  • Experience in developing and managing HR budgets.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Strong project management skills for managing complex HR initiatives.
  • Knowledge in employee benefits and compensation structures.
  • Familiarity with talent management and development practices.
  • Understanding of employee engagement strategies and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across the entire organization.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated compensation range for this position is between $140,000 and $175,000 annually, based on benchmarks in the Washington, D.C. area. This range reflects a good faith estimate for all experience levels. At Hive Group, salary decisions are influenced by several factors, including but not limited to the role, location, and the combination of education, training, skills, certifications, competencies, and relevant work experience.
