Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Leadership Advisor to drive Oracle's database offerings into the next generation of technology, including advancements in Agentic AI. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical and business acumen to prioritize impactful work in our fast-evolving landscape.

Ideal Qualifications

  • 10-20+ years of experience in software engineering, database administration, or data architecture.
  • Previous roles may include Principal Engineer, Database Architect, or Data Platform Lead.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure) and managed RDBMS services.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C or C++ is a plus.
  • Experience as a Chief Architect or Technical Advisor in dynamic organization structures is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Expertise

Leverage your deep hands-on experience with leading RDBMS platforms, including:

  • Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DB2, and modern cloud-native services like Amazon Aurora and Google Cloud Spanner.

Responsibilities include:

  • Database architecture and performance tuning.
  • Data modeling for OLTP and OLAP systems, along with query optimization.
  • Implementation of high availability, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Understanding the trade-offs between NoSQL and RDBMS.
  • Developing migration strategies (e.g., from Oracle to PostgreSQL).
  1. Strategic & Architectural Thinking

Your role will involve:

  • Designing enterprise-scale data architectures.
  • Ensuring compliance with data governance and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Aligning technology decisions with business goals.
  • Evaluating solutions for buy versus build decisions.
  1. Chief of Staff Skills

Act as a force multiplier for the CTO or Chief Architect by:

  • Leading initiatives across multiple teams.
  • Exhibiting strong written and verbal communication skills, producing executive-level and detailed technical documentation.
  • Influencing cross-functionally in engineering, operations, and product.
  • Demonstrating expertise in project planning and prioritization.
  1. Leadership & Interpersonal Skills

As a trusted advisor, you will:

  • Mentor engineers and promote alignment across teams.
  • Facilitate meetings and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Handle sensitive discussions with diplomacy and discretion.

Benefits and Compensation

The role comes with a competitive salary range of $136,600 to $338,500 per annum, with possible bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
