The Facilities and Infrastructure directorate is responsible for the management, maintenance, and construction of all real property assets of the California Military Department. Under the direct supervision of the Construction Project Officer, the Project Director I is responsible for providing management and oversight of less complex and less sensitive capital outlay projects, including needs assessments, formal studies, design, construction, and closeout.

The Project Director I will manage projects in accordance with the State Administrative Manual Section 6800, United Facilities Criteria, CA Public Contract Code, CA Public Resource Code, CA Government Code, CA Military and Veteran's Code, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers standards, National Guard Regulations, and CA Code of Regulations, Title 14, Chapter 3, Section 15000, and Titles 19, 21, 22, 23 and 24.

Department Information
As an employee of the CA Military Department (CMD), you are required to perform the "essential functions" of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. You are expected to work cooperatively with all internal/external staff, to provide the highest level of customer service possible while meeting the CMD mission. All employees are required to treat others fairly, honestly, and with respect.

The CMD has free parking; a free gym on-site for employees; and conveniently located within a few miles of major shopping centers, including many restaurants.

Persons employed at the California Military Department must be able to pass a background investigation and LiveScan fingerprinting.

*This position may/may not be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the CMD and based on the current telework policy. While the CMD supports telework where possible, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.

Statement of Qualifications
Describe your experience with Military Construction (MILCON) and facilities Sustainment, Restoration, Modernization (SRM) program. Describe your experience with project management and construction. Describe how you would handle a dispute with a contractor on a job site. Describe how you would prioritize/manage a construction project and what tools you would use to ensure deadlines were met on time to the required standards.
