Pennsylvania Nurse Practitioner Job Details

• Employment Type: Locum tenens (contract/travel healthcare job)
• Location: Hershey, PA 17033 - Pennsylvania healthcare jobs
• Setting: Cardiovascular Surgery Unit - acute care environment
• Schedule: 36-40 hours/week; three 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm), plus weekend and night call
• Call: Every 5 weekends; call from home (Friday 6pm - Monday 6:30am)
• Contract Duration: 26 weeks (option to extend)
• Patient Encounters: 3-4 per shift
• Nearest Airport: Harrisburg International (MDT)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $3380 - $4000

Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner
• Active Pennsylvania NP license (IMLC not accepted)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience in cardiovascular surgery, operating room (OR) first assist, and ICU preferred
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR and Marquet equipment
• Ability to perform Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting (EVH) and first assist duties
• Credentialing timeframe: 60-120 days

Healthcare Job Responsibilities

• Deliver acute care services in the cardiovascular surgery unit
• Assist surgeons in the operating room as first assist
• Provide scheduled clinic hours and participate in night and weekend call coverage
• Deliver patient care in both OR and ICU settings
• Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with department protocols and credentialing requirements
